Laurent Gbagbo, former President of Côte d’Ivoire and current leader of the Parti des Peuples Africains-Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI), has announced a significant restructuring of his party’s leadership. In a bold move to modernize governance, he has delegated key presidential powers to five trusted political figures within the party.

Key appointments reshaping party leadership

The decision, formalized in an official communiqué, reflects a strategic shift toward collective decision-making. Gbagbo personally endorsed the appointments, emphasizing unity and shared responsibility as core values for the party’s future.

M. Assoa Adou has been named First Vice-President, tasked with enforcing the party’s statutes and internal regulations across all levels. His role includes ensuring compliance among party members and elected officials.

M. Hubert Oulaye takes on the position of Second Vice-President, responsible for overseeing party operations and presiding over meetings of the Central Committee. His appointment underscores a focus on structured governance and accountability.

M. Dano Djédjé Sébastien has been designated as Chair of the Strategic and Political Council, with broad authority over the party’s general direction and operational oversight. This role is pivotal in shaping the PPA-CI’s policy agenda and strategic initiatives.
