Ministers Ibrahima Sy, Yankhoba Diémé, and Alioune Dione have decisively distanced themselves from Pastef. These individuals, who were once active allies of Ousmane Sonko prior to his tenure as prime minister, have now articulated their distinct political alignment.

Their decision was swift and unequivocal. Despite their history as staunch adversaries of former President Macky Sall, having previously championed Ousmane Sonko’s cause, they now assert a commitment to “the Republic” above any individual or partisan interests.

“There is absolutely nothing left within Pastef; it has become an empty shell,” declared Yankhoba Diémé, the former departmental coordinator for Pastef in Bignona, delivering a pointed critique. Echoing this sentiment, Alioune Dione, who previously served as a political leader for Pastef in Diourbel, affirmed, “I, along with all my associates, commit to joining and becoming part of President Diomaye’s new political movement.”
