Among the sea of supporters, voices rose in unison to praise the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP) for ending thirteen years of governance that, they argue, eroded national unity and endangered Niger’s sovereignty under foreign influence.

«This day symbolizes liberation, a fresh start, and the dawn of a governance model unlike anything Niger has experienced in the past three decades,» declared Boubacar Kimba Kollo, a prominent civil society figure.

For many Nigeriens like Abdoulaye Salifou, the anniversary represents more than just a political shift—it’s a rebirth. «The 26th of July is our Independence Day in every sense. It’s when we broke free from decades of dependency and reclaimed our future,» he shared amid the festivities.

Moussa Moumouni echoed this sentiment, stressing the strides made in reclaiming Niger’s autonomy from Western powers. «We’ve made incredible progress in asserting our sovereignty. Now, it’s about maintaining this momentum and ensuring these reforms endure,» he emphasized.
