Government Says Court Overstepped Its Mandate

The government argued that the regional judiciary had exceeded its authority and that there was no basis for it to control internal constitutional matters.

« The court has no competence to control constitutional matters, nor a title to judge a national constitution power »

The government reiterated that while the regional court could monitor human rights violations and comply with regional law, it could not substitute itself for a country’s constitutional court.
