In Kpomé, located within the Maritime region, fifty young individuals have reached a pivotal moment, having been equipped with the necessary tools to immediately commence their agricultural and livestock operations.
This critical equipment distribution, which took place on July 20 under the stewardship of Dotsè Medjina, the Secretary-General of the Maritime Region Governorate and representative of the Governor, signifies the successful conclusion of an intensive three-month professional training program. This curriculum was specifically tailored to cultivate skills in high-potential agropastoral vocations.

Training isn’t enough: immediate equipment for new entrepreneurs
A persistent challenge in many integration programs is the post-training phase. Often, young people acquire valuable skills but lack the essential capital required to launch their own businesses.
In Kpomé, this conventional approach has been redefined. Following their comprehensive training, beneficiaries depart with a complete startup kit. This includes vital tools such as power tillers, motor pumps, sprayers, high-quality seeds, fertilizers, electronic scales, rolls of fencing, advanced irrigation and water storage systems, robust wheelbarrows, and various construction materials.
The overarching aim is to enable these emerging producers to initiate their operations without delay, bypassing the often-lengthy wait for additional funding.
Agropastoral sector: a key driver for rural job creation
The fifty beneficiaries have been thoroughly prepared to operate across several sectors deemed strategic for rural development. The comprehensive program includes specialized training in market gardening, poultry farming, raising small ruminants, and swine production.
By equipping these young individuals with appropriate tools and resources, public authorities are not only working to foster their financial independence but also to bolster local production capacities and invigorate rural economies across Togo.

This initiative forms an integral part of the « Formation-métier et accompagnement à l’insertion professionnelle » (Training-Profession and Support for Professional Integration) project, which was launched in 2025 by the Agence Nationale Pour l’Emploi (ANPE) in close collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Resources, and Food Sovereignty.
Through this ambitious program, Togo seeks to move beyond mere theoretical instruction, forging an employment policy that is more directly geared towards the creation of sustainable, income-generating activities.
