Ivorian PM rallies investors at national development plan forum 2026-2030
Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the Consultative Group for the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, focused on investors, opened today at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.
The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of this gathering, stating, “Today marks another milestone in our consultative process centered on investment, enterprise, and value creation. The goal is to secure private investments essential to executing our development vision.” He noted with satisfaction that over 700 investors from partner countries had traveled to participate in the event.
The gathering brought together business leaders, investors, and private-sector representatives who converged in Abidjan to engage in high-level discussions. The Prime Minister emphasized the forum’s role as a vital platform for aligning private-sector stakeholders with a shared development agenda. “Your commitment alongside us reflects the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth prospects,” he said. “You are key partners in turning our vision into reality—a more competitive, job-creating economy.”
The government has made a strategic decision to position the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. The Prime Minister reassured investors that the country’s economy, with its proven resilience and adaptability, has maintained an average growth rate of 6.5% in recent years. This performance underscores its standing among Africa’s most dynamic economies.
“This is a market in full expansion,” he continued. “Today’s proceedings will fast-track investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, development of critical infrastructure—transport, digital, logistics—and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.”
The Prime Minister recalled that the first day, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.
Speaking on behalf of investors, Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Moroccan Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM) and President of the Africa Committee of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their confidence in the Ivorian authorities’ vision.
