Ivorian PM rallies investors for 2026-2030 development plan in Abidjan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, kicked off today at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of this gathering, stating, “Today marks another milestone in our consultative efforts focused on investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation. Our primary goal is to secure the private investments essential for realizing this ambitious development vision.”” He proudly noted that over 700 investors from friendly nations have joined the event.

The presence of business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives underscored the importance of this meeting. During his address, the Head of Government emphasized that this platform fosters meaningful dialogue with private sector stakeholders while aligning on a shared development vision.

“Dear partners,” he said, “your commitment alongside us reflects the trust you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic outlook and growth potential. You are pivotal in turning our vision into reality—a more competitive and job-creating economy. Success hinges on the private sector’s willingness to invest.”

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He reassured investors that the country’s economy has demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability amid global shifts, with an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, solidifying its position among Africa’s most dynamic economies.

“This is a market brimming with opportunities for you, investors,” he declared. “Today’s discussions will accelerate investments in key PND 2026-2030 sectors—industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost added value, infrastructural development in transport, digitalization, and logistics to enhance competitiveness, and investments in human capital, innovation, and services critical to building a more productive and inclusive economy.”

He also recalled that the first day, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.

In response, leaders from the private sector echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Moroccan Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM) and President of MEDEF Africa, along with Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged their full support. They reaffirmed their confidence in the Ivorian authorities’ vision and expressed readiness to contribute substantial financial commitments to the PND 2026-2030.
