Tidjane thiam champions national unity in Côte d’Ivoire, commends ouattara’s appeasement initiatives

In a significant address to the Nation on August 6, 2026, Tidjane Thiam, who presides over the Parti démocratique de Côte d’Ivoire – Rassemblement démocratique africain (PDCI-RDA), lauded President Alassane Ouattara’s recent efforts aimed at de-escalating the political climate. Concurrently, Thiam passionately urged all Ivorians to rally behind shared principles of national unity and a hopeful future for Côte d’Ivoire.

During his statement, the distinguished leader of the PDCI-RDA explicitly recognized “the actions taken by Alassane Ouattara to foster tranquility within our country’s political landscape.” He characterized these initiatives as promising indicators for strengthening the bonds of national cohesion across Côte d’Ivoire.

Furthermore, Thiam confirmed the PDCI-RDA’s participation in the upcoming Independence Day festivities, scheduled to take place in Yopougon.
