N’Djamena hosts landmark launch of World Vision Tchad’s 2026-2030 strategic vision

World Vision Tchad has unveiled its ambitious five-year roadmap (2026-2030) during a high-profile press conference in N’Djamena, bringing together government officials, development partners and media representatives. The strategy aims to directly benefit 3.29 million children across the country, with a special focus on reaching 3.09 million of the most vulnerable young lives through integrated programs in health, education, child protection and climate resilience.

The heart of the strategy: humanitarian-development-peace nexus

The organization’s regional director for West Africa, Carla Dominique Denizard, emphasized the transformative potential of the ‘Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus’ approach. Speaking from Dakar, she highlighted how this integrated methodology bridges emergency relief with sustainable development and peacebuilding initiatives. ‘Every child in Chad deserves not just to survive but to thrive,’ Denizard stated, stressing that success depends on robust partnerships, community engagement and culturally sensitive programming.

She outlined how the strategy aligns with continental and global frameworks including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13 and 16) and Chad’s Vision 2030. Key focal areas include human capital development, social protection systems, climate adaptation measures, literacy enhancement through the Unlock Literacy program and comprehensive child protection mechanisms.

National director outlines bold ambitions and stark realities

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, Country Director of World Vision Tchad, described the launch as ‘a historic milestone’ for both the organization and Chad’s children. The new strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, with Wangoy emphasizing their dual objective: ‘We’re not just saving lives—we’re building futures where every child can flourish.’

He painted a sobering picture of Chad’s ongoing challenges: persistent poverty affecting 42% of the population, recurrent humanitarian crises and escalating climate impacts. ‘Our integrated approach combines immediate relief with long-term solutions,’ Wangoy explained, highlighting priority areas including maternal and child health integration, foundational literacy development, violence prevention and community climate resilience.

A call for unified action

Concluding the presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership extended an invitation to all national stakeholders. The organization is seeking collaboration with government agencies, technical partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and media outlets to ensure the strategy’s successful implementation. ‘Transforming current challenges into sustainable opportunities requires collective action,’ the team emphasized. Through this ambitious 2026-2030 plan, World Vision Tchad pledges to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s Vision 2030 and global SDG commitments—creating a future where every child is protected, nourished, educated and empowered to reach their full potential.
