N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has unveiled its groundbreaking 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to uplift children across the nation. The launch event, held at N’Djamena’s prestigious Résidence Hôtel, brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and key national authorities to introduce this transformative roadmap.

A vision for vulnerable children

With a bold target to impact 3.29 million children by 2030—including 3.09 million from the most vulnerable communities—World Vision Tchad’s new strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles. The initiative focuses on five critical pillars: health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience, all designed to ensure no child is left behind in Chad’s development journey.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa (based in Dakar), described the strategy as both audacious and innovative. She emphasized its foundation on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, a holistic approach that bridges emergency relief with sustainable development and peacebuilding efforts. « Every child in Chad deserves not just to survive, but to thrive, » she stated, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural integration in achieving this vision.

Aligning with continental and global goals

The strategy is meticulously crafted to align with Chad’s Vision 2030 and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, while also contributing to multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Key priorities include:

• Nutrition and health: Integrated programs targeting maternal and child health, with a focus on reducing malnutrition rates.
• Education revolution: Expansion of the Unlock Literacy program to enhance early reading skills and foundational learning.
• Child protection: Strengthening systems to safeguard children from violence, exploitation, and abuse.
• Climate resilience: Empowering communities to adapt to environmental challenges through sustainable practices and disaster preparedness.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the strategy launch a « historic moment » for the organization and the children of Chad. « Our goal is simple yet profound: to ensure every child in Chad has the opportunity to not only survive but flourish, » he declared. He underscored the urgency of the mission, noting that nearly 42% of Chad’s population lives below the poverty line, exacerbating challenges like malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and climate-induced vulnerabilities.

A call for collective action

Following the strategy’s unveiling, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a powerful appeal to all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to join forces in implementing this ambitious plan. « Achieving our goals requires a united front, » emphasized the organizers. « Together, we can turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s sustainable opportunities for Chad’s children. »

Through this 2026-2030 strategy, World Vision Tchad reaffirms its commitment to building a nation where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential—a vision deeply embedded in both national and international development agendas.
