In a landmark move to bolster regional security, Algeria has delivered a significant military aid package to Niger. The donation, executed under the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and overseen by Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army (ANP), includes four helicopters and a range of military equipment.

Under the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Niger, the military aid was formalized through a handover ceremony. The package consists of two MI-24V attack helicopters and two MI-171 utility helicopters, which departed from the secondary deployment base at In Gezzam in the 6th Military Region, bound for Niamey’s international airport in Niger.

In addition to the helicopters, the shipment included a comprehensive set of essentials: ammunition for the aircraft, spare parts, and logistical support equipment. These were transported via a military aircraft dispatched from Algeria’s Air Force, all heading to the same destination in Niamey.

This gesture underscores Algeria’s unwavering commitment to enhancing defense and security cooperation in the Sahel region. By providing such support, Algeria reaffirms its dedication to fostering stability and strengthening partnerships with neighboring nations through shared expertise and multilateral collaboration.
