The recent visit by Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, Head of State from Madagascar, to N’Djamena, Chad, underscored a shared commitment to bolstering bilateral relations and leveraging the Malagasy diaspora’s potential. During his trip, Colonel Randrianirina engaged with approximately twenty Malagasy nationals residing in Chad. He emphasized the critical role of the diaspora, stating, “The diaspora represents a significant asset for Madagascar, and their diverse skills must be further recognized and utilized.”

Beyond this vital exchange with expatriates, the visit aimed to invigorate economic and professional collaborations between Madagascar and Chad. Discussions highlighted the importance of fostering the movement of expertise and sharing valuable experiences as key drivers for expanding Madagascar’s influence across the African continent.

A notable segment of the itinerary included participation in Chad’s 66th independence anniversary celebrations, held yesterday in N’Djamena. Colonel Michaël Randrianirina attended at the invitation of Marshal Idriss Mahamat, President of Chad, alongside General Horta N’Tam, President of Guinea-Bissau. Colonel Randrianirina characterized this gathering as a prime opportunity to “strengthen intra-African cooperation.” He also revealed that the Chadian President expressed a keen interest in visiting Madagascar to engage in further dialogue and identify new avenues for collaboration between the two nations.
