N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has rolled out its ambitious five-year strategy for 2026-2030, marking a significant leap forward in its mission to uplift the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The initiative, unveiled during a high-profile press conference in the capital, seeks to transform the future of vulnerable young people by integrating humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding into a unified effort.

At the launch event held at the Résidence Hotel in N’Djamena, World Vision Tchad brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and government officials to outline its roadmap for the coming years. The strategy targets 3.29 million children by 2030, with a special focus on 3.09 million of the most at-risk youth, addressing critical areas such as health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, described the strategy as « groundbreaking and transformative. » She emphasized the organization’s « Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus » approach, which bridges emergency relief with long-term sustainable growth and conflict prevention. « Children in Chad deserve more than survival—they deserve to thrive, » she stated, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships, grassroots mobilization, and cultural sensitivity in achieving these goals.

Denizard underscored the severe challenges facing Chad, including persistent poverty, multidimensional deprivation, climate-induced crises, and large-scale displacement. She pointed out that World Vision’s vision for West and Central Africa is to ensure every child in fragile contexts not only survives but flourishes. The strategy aligns with continental and global agendas, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s Vision 2030. Key priorities include human capital development, social protection, climate adaptation, literacy enhancement through the Unlock Literacy program, and robust child safeguarding measures.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the launch a « watershed moment » for the organization and for the nation’s children. He noted that this strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to reaching 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. « Our goal is clear: every child in Chad must not only survive but thrive, » he declared.

Ngoy Wangoy painted a stark picture of Chad’s ongoing struggles, citing deep-rooted poverty, malnutrition, recurring humanitarian crises, and the growing impacts of climate change. With nearly 42% of the population living below the poverty line, he stressed the urgent need for intensified efforts to support the most vulnerable. The strategy’s core pillars include integrated nutrition and health programs with a focus on maternal and child health, expanded access to quality education through Unlock Literacy, comprehensive child protection measures, and community resilience-building against climate shocks.

In closing, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a rallying call to all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to join forces in making this strategy a success.
